Emily Haines went from sexy, dirty synth pop masterpieces with Metric, to dark, nostalgic piano ballads as a solo performer and (at least in my opinion), nailed them both. Doctor Blind specifically deals with a frustration with  the kinds of doctors that tend to focus more on dealing out prescriptions as opposed to treating whatever the fundamental problem is, in this case, depression. Haines deals with this relatively relatable occurrence with such an openness that it is very reminiscent of John Lennon and Cat Stevens’ work. I’m really enjoying this whole album as of late, it took me a little while to get fully invested in it, but there are some gems here, this being one of them
