This song may have been the beginning of the end for the Eagles, but a lot of bands have fought over a lot less. According to legend (and the documentary ‘History of the Eagles’), Don Felder got pretty pissed that the Eagles recorded Don Henley for the vocal part instead of him, as he was allegedly promised. Aside from this contention among the band, ‘Victim of Love’ was recorded live with the whole band as an attempt to prove that the Eagles weren’t just a lifeless studio band. All things considered, this song is a key component to the Hotel California album, and the Eagles catalogue.
