Between his solo work and his work with The Replacements, Paul Westerberg has a pretty great breadth of work, and this song acted as an excellent bridge between the two parts. It was initially released as part of the soundtrack to Cameron Crowe’s film “Singles,” and just kinda grew from there. When I first heard it, I thought it definitely took more of a ‘pop’ turn compared to the Replacements’ stuff, but this seems to be where Westerberg shines. All the different parts each work as their own hook, and add to the overall song, Paul Westerberg nailed the art of a catchy song that still sounds sincere and real.
